Gravenstein is a variety that originated in Denmark in the 1700s. The apples are large, flavourful and juicy. Today, the red Gravenstein is the most common, but older growers insist that the yellow variety is the best. We use both in our Gravenstein cider. Aroma: Scent of peach and sun-ripened apples. Taste: Full-bodied and fresh taste of peach and plums with a hint of citrus. Lightly sparkling with a good length. Sweetness and strength: Sweet.
