EGGE GÅRD
The apple farm in Lier outside Drammen has a long tradition of apples and fruit. As early as 1702, the Egge family established themselves here and it is today the 9th generation. Marius Egge now own the farm and the fields.
Apple cultivation was started in the 60s. Egge Gård has since, with Marius in the forefront, become a pioneer in Norway for non-alcoholic and alcoholic drinks of very high quality. Apple cider, applejuice wine production and distillate of several types of spirits are made here. In 2022, the Norwegian wine importer Gaia Gruppen took over responsibility for the farm and operation. The focus is to further develop Egge Gård's high quality and considerable investment has been made in the growth areas and in production equipment. Lier is a unique area for the production of quality fruit, which gives both a unique acidity and sweetness to the production of quality drinks.
Egge Gård was the first in Norway to make cider using the traditional method (secondary fermentation in the bottle) and the first producer of sparkling wine: Egge ONE (traditional method) which today is available to consumers at Vinmonopolet and in restaurants.
